When booking your child’s flights please bear in mind that the journey between the College and Heathrow Airport takes 3 to 4 hours, depending on the time of travel. 1. Transfer of students from and to London Heathrow Airport on the first and last day of the course is included. Please try to ensure your child’s flight arrives between 08:00 and 18:00 hours on the first day of the course, and departs between 09:30 and 17:00 hours on the last day of the course. Please specify if "unaccompanied minor" service has been booked with the airline. Independent taxi transfer (approximate prices as shown below) are payable in respect of students;

The travel form giving full details of your child’s travel arrangements, should be returned to Concord College as soon as you have made a definite booking for your child’s outward and return journeys so that arrangements may be made for teachers to meet students at Heathrow Airport. It is important that we receive all the details requested on the form. The booking of the return journey is the parents’ responsibility, and should be made well in advance. a) Students Travelling by Air via Heathrow Airport will be met at his/her arrival gate (reached after baggage claim and customs) by a teacher. Your child will recognise teachers from Concord College - they will carry a sign ‘CONCORD COLLEGE’ and will wear an identification badge. If your child does not see our sign immediately he/she should wait there and look carefully for the Concord representative. He/she should not go to another part of the airport. If unaccompanied minor service has been booked, the College must be notified. Your child will be accompanied to the College coach and driven to Concord. Please complete PART A only of the form. In the unlikely event that your child does not find the Concord teacher at the arrivals area, they should telephone Concord College on +44 (0)1694 731631. The team| coordinating the transfers will be at the College throughout the day and will contact the teacher at the airport terminal to loate your child. PLEASE GIVE THIS TELEPHONE NUMBER TO YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER BEFORE DEPARTURE. 3. Care should be taken to ensure that the weight of your child’s luggage is well within the baggage allowance determined by the airline to allow for any purchases your child might make whilst in England. Excess baggage charges, if applied on the return journey, can be very high. |
